Current Vacancies

[VOLUNTARY] Councillor – St. Petrocs Ward (Co-Option)

There is currently a vacancy in the office of councillor for the St. Petrocs ward, the candidate must meet the eligibility criteria as set out in sections 79 & 80 of the Local Government Act 1972 (summarised below.) This is a voluntary role, however there are certain costs that can be reimbursed such as costs for approved travel, and subsistence if you are required to travel outside of the parish.
The successful candidate will be co-opted into the role by a councillor vote. If you’d like to find out more about the co-option process, you can find some helpful information here.

Please note that to be considered for this role, you must meet the eligibility criteria below:

  • Must be aged 18 or over
  • Must be a British, European, or Commonwealth citizen
  • Must have lived within 3 miles of, worked, or owned property in the parish for at least 12 months consecutively
