Example of Matting to be used at Hillside Car Park

UPDATE: Hillside Car Park, Berrycoombe, Bodmin

Bodmin Town Council is currently making urgent arrangements for the installation of temporary trench crossing matting (see example in photo) to be laid over 75% of the car park surface for opening as soon as possible for public use.

This is a short- term solution, or at least, until the issues relating to the Leat are remedied accordingly. Only 75% of the car park can be used due to the nature of the problems with the Leat, this approach is primarily aimed at reducing any potential risk to public safety. The Council wholeheartedly agree it is in the public interest to open the car park, however, it is very mindful of its duty towards keeping the public reasonably free from risk of danger, damage, or injury.

We aim to open the car park within the next week or two, however, the Council is reliant on contractors to help it achieve this deadline.

May we take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and safe Easter holiday.
