This year is the 25th Anniversary of the revival of the ancient Riding Day celebration which began more than 500 years ago.

On Saturday Fore street will be lined with stalls, children from the five local primary schools will be competing in the Riding Dance in processions through the main street accompanied by local bands and led by Bodmin Town Band.

There will be lots going on throughout the town including the search for the Beast of Bodmin, its probable capture and trial on Mount Folly. New this year will be The Beastly Row former Helliers who have retired from hunting the Beast of Bodmin plan to create as much noise as they can muster in support of the young Helliers. The Craft Fair will be held in the Shire House whilst the public rooms will be filled with model exhibitions. Bodmin Veterans Football team will be playing a match against an invited team, the Priory will also be the site of the fairground rides.

Entertainments, music and dancing will be happening all day through Fore Street and on Mount Folly. So come into town and join in the festivities. All car parks except Priory car park will be open as usual.

On Sunday the age-old Riding Service takes place starting at 9:45 with a procession from St Marys Church to St Petrocs Church for the blessing of St Petroc’s Bones. In the afternoon from 2pm to 4pm the Cornish Wrestling Association will be holding a tournament in Priory Park, supported by students from Bodmin College.

Street entertainments throughtout the Saturday will include:

- Cornish Piper Fairground Organ
- Dartmoor Border Morris
- The Cornish Wurzels
- Jumping Out Jazz Band

There will also be an exhibition by Friends of St Petroc's Church opposite Chapel an Gansblydhen
